You're on a Roll
A smug little die is sure the saying is about him. Where "you're on a roll" really comes from.
He thinks it is about him.
Slang dictionaries trace "on a roll" to the dice table, where a lucky player keeps throwing until a seven ends the turn; others say it is plain momentum. It is in print by the 1970s.
