When Pigs Fly
We asked a grand old sow in a mud bath whether pigs can fly. She told us to ask about the basket.
Tails forward.
In 1616 a dictionary for young beginners listed pigs flying through the air, tails forward, as a plain impossibility. Then in 1909 the aviator John Moore-Brabazon took a piglet up in a wastepaper basket, as a joke, and John Steinbeck later signed his books with a little flying pig he called Pigasus.
